Sustainable Site Design
The use of Low-Impact Development (LID) practices for Stormwater Management has proven to reduce development cost and have positive benefits on stormwater quantity and quality. Phoenix has been a leader in implementing LID practices in public and private infrastructure.
An opportunity for stormwater quality improvement that Phoenix has identified is to retrofit site that were developed with conventional stormwater infrastructure into sites employing LID infrastructure such as raingardens, swales, infiltration basins, permeable paving, etc. Phoenix has performed a number of these projects.
